How to Prepare Your Car for a Long Road Trip

Most road-trip breakdowns are not mysterious. They are ordinary problems such as marginal tires, ignored warning signs, low fluids, weak batteries, bad wipers, or overloaded cargo that become obvious only after hours of heat, speed, and luggage. Good preparation is less about doing every possible service and more about removing the failures most likely to strand you or make the trip unsafe. This does not mean every car needs a full service just because a trip is coming up.
